Community Creative Center A Time For Art (from 2015 better late than never?)

So in 2015 I created the illustrations and graphic design for a large project for the Community Creative Center’s “A Time For Art” summer art camp. It was a very fun project where it was themed around art from around the world and thought time. We went with a travel sticker theme and the images below are the result. This was one of my all time favorite projects to work on. It was a very graphic style with very fresh colors.

Community Creative Center: All So Far

The Community Creative Center is a really great place over in Fayetteville, AR where people can learn all kinds of art media from local, professional artists! “CCC is a real asset for the community and I am glad to have them and to design for them” – JD

Holiday Bazaar, Holiday Market and Gift Certificates, here is everything we have created for them so far:

A Bear of a Gift Certificate Design

Bear with us folks!

We just completed designs for the Community Creative Center’s Gift Certificates. The idea of using a bear and the bearer pun were not our idea but we wish it had been! The designs are ours however and… well just check them out:

So this holiday season, give them a lasting gift rather than one that they will take back or possibly regift. If you want more information on gift certificates from Community Creative Center, head over to their website: CommunityCreativeCenter.org

Community Creative Center’s Holiday Market

The Holiday Market!

Yes, it is December 1st. Yes, I cannot believe it either! Time for the holiday season and for gift buying! That being said you might consider checking out Community Creative Center’s Holiday Market.

We continue to create fun and stylish designs for the Community Creative Center in Fayetteville, AR. This design set is for their Holiday Market which is actually located in nearby Bentonville, AR. We designed the storefront and everything else you see here.

If you are in the North West Arkansas area between December 10th and 20th stop in and support local artists this holiday season! Click HERE to go see Community Creative Center’s website for more information!

Ash&Ember – Tee Shirt and Special Card Designs

Some great new specialty cards and a first!

I recently did some new design work for Ash&Ember a great and unusual shop selling the best in pipes, and blended tobaccos, cigars and a large assortment of collectible memorabilia and even some clothing items! I’d call it a curiosity shop for sure and a worthy stop if you are visiting North West Arkansas!

As for the cards, they are a Loyalty Card and a special club members’ card featuring design and illustration by JD Ray. As for the first there is a silkscreened teeshirt design and illustration by JD and a first for Stingray Grafik Wurks! The shirt is available in several colors and sizes. Only club members get the exclusive shirt with the club name, Society of Strange-Fellows, on the back.

Without further ado, here are the designs. (by the way these items are in print and ready for you to acquire from Ash&Ember!)

Community Creative Center’s 7th Annual Holiday Bazaar…

Community Creative Center at Nadine Baum Studio

Here you can see the 10’x10′ Mesh Banner designed by JD Ray with illustration by Aimee Ray

First off, Fayetteville AR and the surrounding area is fortunate to have the Community Creative Center. It is a great place for children and adults to experience art in a creative studio environment. I, for one, never had access to a place like this where I grew up and many people don’t. So if you live in the Fayetteville AR area you need to yourself over there and enroll in some classes or at the very least, say hey and buy some art!

Anyway, I had the privilege to design the banner, signage and other items for their 7th Annual Holiday Bazaar which features art for sale by local artists. If you are in the North West Arkansas area Dec 6 stop in and support our area artists and get some gifts with a little more meaning this year!

Check out all the nice items we designed:

It has been such a great experience working for the CCC on this project. Thanks to Barb and Joy!

Ash&Ember: A Gentleman’s Shop

Ash&Ember is another outside project I did through Inuendos design project and it was very exciting for me because I have designed quite a bit for them. And their proprietor Joe is a very cool and encouraging cat to work for.

Here is a gallery of some of what I designed for them:

So if you like handcrafted pipes, cigars, tobaccos and yes even collectibles and graphic novels… head over to this very novel store in downtown Siloam Springs, AR! www.ashemberpipes.com

Outside Projects

JD  has done outside work besides freelance work with Stingray Grafik.

Until recently he worked for a small design company called Inuendos. “At Inuendos I designed car wraps, signs, business cards and all sorts of interesting things including WordPress websites. I even have lent a hand in installing some of these graphics in their respective forms.

It was a good experience!

Illustration!

This is something that we are quite good at but have done little of as Stingray Grafik Wurks but more so under our own names. Aimee’s work can be found at her main site: Aimee Ray.com

This gallery features work by JDRay and will be updated from time to time:

Digital Painting!

We have been doing comic book coloring in various forms since 1993. It has been fun and cool to have worked at this for so long. Though this is published also as a page, I thought that it would be great as a post! (also because this theme is more friendly to Posts!

We will be updating the gallery from time to time but for now, here are pics already featured on the existing comic coloring! page:
